- Who are you?
My name is Pien, I am 20 years old and from Eindhoven. In daily life I'm a part-time digital content creator and I also study communication at the Fontys Hogeschool in Eindhoven.
- What do you love about sports?
Team sports have always been a passion. Because in a team sport you don't participate just to play sports, but also to meet new people. You make new friends and maintain your social contacts. I also feel like I have some kind of a weekly "obligation" to play sports. This keeps me active and is good for my fitness.
- What is you favourite sport and why?
My favourite sport is field hockey. From age 6 to 18 I played hockey myself and have always enjoyed it very much. Field hockey has always been in my family. My parents played hockey on a high level and my brother still plays field hockey at a serious level. We also had a small hockey field in my backyard where I could practice a lot. So, playing field hockey was something I was brought up on.
- What brought you to work for FIKAGEAR?
Like many of my peers, I grew up with social media. I also study communications and have played hockey myself for much of my life. So that comes together at FIKAGEAR where I can also lean on personal experience with some of FIKAGEAR's products. Namely with the ball bags, balls, and masks. The idea behind the ball bag is very useful, because I can well remember having to collect all the balls after training and count them piece by piece to check if it was complete.
Having been to HOD several times and seen teams training with the hockey5s boarding, I thought this looked like fun. I have since tried it myself and am a big fan! The ball hardly ever goes out, so the game goes on much longer with lots of ball contact, with everyone constantly involved. This makes the game a lot more fun. That's why I started working for FIKAGEAR. Super exciting!
